Mac OSX Leopard on a T61

Hi,

A friend of mine recently purchased a macbook and I have spent some time playing with it.

I found that Leopard does some interesting things that I wouldn't mind being able to utilize.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of putting Mac OSX Leopard on a T61?

I know it can be put on a PC but can you run it dually with windows?

Are there any major dirver issues?

I look forward to any input.

Thanks,

Yes, It can be done fairly easily given you have the right hardware.
Wireless - Thinkpad a/b/g works fine, Atheros works from what I've read
LAN - Haven't looked into it much, but I'm pretty sure there aren't drivers available yet.
Video - gma x3100 is fully supported, and there are also some nvidia drivers floating around
Sound - recently "fixed". If you look in the forum around where this post is you'll see that there is a solution, but it is not perfected yet.
Sleep/wake - this might work for you, and it might not. I haven't tried leo4all or iatkos, but it does not work on my kalyway. It's not that big of a deal, because it only takes about 30 seconds for my computer to boot. Good luck!
p.s. there are a ton of dualbooting guides on the insanelymac website.

Thanks zaklafontaine,

I really appreciate your help. The hardware you quoted is exactly what I have. So, it will be most likely something I will try to play with at some point soon.

Ah, No problem. I guess there is hope for the LAN drivers. The guy that fixed the sound T U R B O. Has a blog where he said he's getting close to fixing it. (http://0xfeedbeef.com/osx86/) If you have any problems feel free to ask me. It's well worth the plunge. Just make sure you get time machine working or some form of back ups.

Time Machine would be one of the major reasons for my wanting to use OS-X so that won't be a problem.

Thanks again for your help.

You can get audio working with tweaking. There's a work around for cardbus too... the wireless has drivers depending on which wireless card you have in the thinkpad.

i swear, there is like no guide on installing osx leopard on a T61.
(post drivers and stuff)

if only i knew how, i'd write a guide myself.
i can get to about the 3rd screen using Kalyway 10.5.2 and it just keeps restarting itself.
