iATKOS v4 on Thinkpad T61

#1 Post by Jordban » Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:31 pm

Hello,

I've installed Mac OS x 1.5.4 using this iATKOS v4 DVD.

I formatted the whole hard drive using the Mac OS Extended Journal and completed the installation.

When i went to boot the computer it hanged at the spinning circle gray screen.

So i rebooted it using verbose mode (-v) and it came up with this error
Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort
And then it said waiting for device i believe and kept repeating that message.

I'm completely lost on what to do, any help is appreciated greatly.

My Thinkpad specs are:

15.4" widescreen (Resolution 1680 x 1050)
2GB Ram
60GB Hard Drive
128mb ATI Video Card

Thanks!

I've never had this problem, but I can tell you two things to do.
1. Try booting in safe mode (x)
2. Look at insanelymac.com forums. I believe i've seen your problem discussed in the os x installation section. Good luck!

For what it's worth..I first tried iatkos, and it wouldn't make it past the apple screen. I then used kalyway 10.5.2, and everything has been great.
Lenovo Thinkpad T61
Dual Boot - Kalyway OS X 10.5.4 & XP
Processor - 2.00 GHz Core 2 Duo CoolBook'd
Video - working (Intel GMA X3100)
Sound - AD1984 Working Thanks to Turbo
Wifi - Thinkpad a/b/g Working fine
LAN - using apple usb to ethernet adapter
