I've been thinking up picking an extra Thinkpad but I was curious which model is best OOB?
How are the X40 or X61s? T43?
Which Thinkpad would you choose for a dedicated OSX machine?

The most important components are video chipset and wireless network chipset (all Atheros will do)

i think the t60/t60p is pretty well supported - i think the only thing i haven't got working 100% is that i have no mic and no headphones.

I agree with chris-uk.
Another thing is the backlight control goes out first on the left side.

I have a T60 with working OSX
agree that there's no mic, and no headphones
But I can get only either one of full QE/CI or no-mouse-tearing to work - because I have a ATI Mobility X1300 on the T60.
The OSX86 on my T60 can become truly 100% usable if it can let me run a second screen through the VGA port (for presentation or dual screen)

I have the T60, but I haven't been able to get the power management all working. I can shut the lid and see the screen turn off. I can select "Sleep" and hear the hd spin down, but the fan stays on all the time!!
I am using the powermanagment package thats posted all over insanelymac. It shows a battery meter and I get working Energy Saver preferences.
I too have X1300, mouse tearing isn't that bad, and I have QE. I run 1400x1050 which is a little stretched, and fuzzy.
If anyone has any tips for getting the sleep/power management stuff better on the T60 please let me know.

i think when playing with powermanagement then it was the smbios used that made the biggest difference for me - for example, some smbios wouldn't allow sleep, others worked flawlessly on sleep but had other troubles.
