X61s and Kalyway 10.5.1 - problems

#1 Post by iamdmc » Sun Oct 26, 2008 4:07 pm

I tried to install OS X 10.5.1 using the Kalyway disc. I once got the "installation successful" screen, then when I tried to boot it up I get a "b01" error - or I get the grey apple screen (with the darker grey apple in the middle) and the laptop reboots itself (ie. back to the Thinkpad screen).

My setup:
250GB Seagate 7200RPM drive
4GB (2x 2GB Corsair)
CPU: LV7300 (1.4GHz)

I partition the drive into 2 partitions - the first 40GB for "OSX" in Mac OS X Extended - Journaled... and the rest as "free space". Tried using MBR and GUID (different times of course) and customized the install to have the MBR or GUID driver.

Sometimes I get the "Installation Successful" screen, but sometimes I don't. The result is the same: grey screen but no full boot - the machine just reboots itself.

Can anybody help me? I already tried googling it, insanelymac forums, and some wikis - but nothing has helped.

According to http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index ... -tablet.29 the X61 is compatible - so does that mean that the X61s is also compatible?

ANY help is very very much appreciated. Thanks
