copied finetuned's Extensions, acpi error (T60p 8741-AE)

#1 Post by pisanggoreng » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:22 am

Hi, im very new to putting osx on a thinkpad.

i successfully managed to put osx on another partition.
Because i have the exact same laptop as finetuned on http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=67386
(it's a Eindhoven University 2007 thinkpad t60p), i downloaded his extensions backup containing two folders (__MACOSX and Extensions) with A LOT kexts.

In my WORKING but basic Leopard, i used kexthelper and drag/dropped ALL kexts and installed them.
This went fine though, so i rebooted, and now darwin hangs on this error:

Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\ ".\n~@/Volumes/disk1s2/leo_xnu-1228/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1405

The screen faded and a message "You need to restart your computer..." shows up..

can someone help me please?
what commands do I need to type in the darwin terminal f.e?

Thank You !

edit: okay after reading, i think i forgot to first thrash the Extensions folder before using kexthelper....
How can i still fix this without reinstalling ?

edit: okay, first trashing the extensions folder didn't help ... any suggestions??

I would suggest that you rebuild the extension folder like it was and then just put those extensions there you think that are needed for your TP - if not already working.

So e.g. first start with WiFi, reboot, then graphics, reboot, then sound...

It isn't that much work, and it helps to understand what's going on. For my X60T I just have to add very few extensions...

I guess you have problems from using another kernel than finetune...
