I run Leopard in VMWare Player on a X200s. Some things you should know before trying it:
- It is against the Mac OS EULA, and not supported by VMWare in any way.
- Sound driver is buggy.
- VMWare Tools are a pain to install and pretty useless. Only Copy/paste text works. File sharing works from time to time.
- There is no graphics driver for the VM. So no QE/CI, which means that : some apps will not install, the resolution has to be set manually (the highest I got my VM is 1280x800, it crashes at 1440x900), and no 'Unity' mode. Also, that means the CPU has to do all the work, but given the power of the W700, you should not have any problems with this.

If what I said does not put you off, you should follow Donk's tutorial at InsanelyMac :

The easiest way to get it to work is to use his templates :

Have fun !

There is a VMWare image on one of the torrent sites with OSX86. It runs okay my desktop machine but I can tell you that its going to require a lot of horse power and RAM to just to get it run OKAY. Plus your W700 will need to already have Vista x64 or Win XP x64 installed or the VMware image will not work.

My desktop consists of:

Q9450 @ 3.2Ghz, 8GB RAM, WD VRaptor 300GB, Vista Business x64 SP2, Dual Nvidia 8800GT's.

i'm running snow leopard inside vmware workstaion 7 on my x61s right now,,it's so smoothy on vm7,,and no problem with sound,,vmtools in a boot cd named darwin300.iso, you can get it from internet,,if you'd like to,create a new guest os based on free bsd x64,before you install os x,you have to edit the configuration file ending with .vmx,,modify guest os type to "darwin10",,then install snow leopard 10.6 original edition,,btw,be sure your cpu is intel VT enabled in BIOS settings before do this,,
i'm sorry i don't know how to post the snapshots here,,

I just started running the VMware OSX instance I downloaded from a Torrent site on my T61 3GB RAM WinXP Pro 32.

Rather slow...
