Its my first time trying to load OSX on one of my T61s. I have two identical T61s and I tried to load IPC 10.5.6. When I loaded IPC on my first t61 I got a black screen after the apple logo and on the 2nd one...I got a white screen with vertical lines that changes every now an then with different colors. However both of these laptops seem to run perfectly fine with XP pro. I was worried one of them had a bad lcd so I switched the lcd assemblies around and the white screen followed the LCD that originally had a white screen and the black screen followed the LCD that originally had the black screen. So I know both of my video cards on the motherboards are ok. Do I have a faulty LCD or could I have 2 different LCDs with the same exact T61 that I ordered at the same time? Should I see the black screen or the white screen with lines? I am now d/l leo4all and I am hoping that will load on both.

Here's how I get mine working every time:

1. Install the base system. When the system reboots, you'll need to stop it when it prompts for startup options.
2. Start in single user mode, using -s
3. mount -uw /
4. rm -r /system/library/extensions/AppleIntelGMAX*.*
5. exit

You'll start using the stock VGA drivers, so it'll run at 10x7....

Using 0SX86Tools, load the x3100 drivers from the site. (you can also load other drivers, but that's the only one I care about.)

When the system restarts again (after you restart it), it'll come up at 1680x1050 with a corrupt cursor. That's fine. You can go to the system preferences and under displays, select 1600x1000x32@60. That will fix the cursor corruption problem. It won't be quite as sharp as at native resolution, but works pretty well. I'm looking for a fix on the native resolution problem, but can't find anything anywhere.

So, that's how I get it working. Has been running fine since 10.5.2, including 10.5.6.
