Turning on an external monitor

#1 Post by dcipher » Sat May 02, 2009 9:35 pm

Running 10.5.6 on my TPad T60P (5250 graphics). Working great. Only 1 open issue - when i plugin an external monitor, it's recognized by OS X right away, but the monitor won't turn on. The monitor must get some signal because it stops showing its "not connected" pattern, but it won't come out of standby...
If I reboot the machine with the monitor connected, it turns on and works fine. Does anyone out there have a utility that I can use to turn on the monitor? There must be some way...

i have exactly the same issue - it also happens if you put the laptop to sleep - when you wake up, the external display doesn't wake up. i've been unable to find any fix and assumed it's because some sort of 'signal' must be sent over the wire when the machine boots that isn't being sent at any other time

ibm t60p wiht ati firegl5250 graphics card?
i had this NB. too. I install mac os 10.5.6(ideneb ver.). but if I modify my card drivers (let't this card can open QE/CI and can change resolution to 1440*1050),the external monitor is not working. if I don't modify the drivers it works without QE/CI.
can you tell me the way how to install the driver that I can use the external monitor with QE/CI?
