Just starting out - T60 - 10.6

Used Empire EFI and a "factory" OS 10.6 disc to get my Thinkpad T60 (2007) running.
I did get the ethernet to work.
If I boot from the EFI CD first, then 10.6 from the HD, the keyboard and trackpad work fine... but if I boot soley from the HD, neither work (USB mouse/kb do)
What should I be looking for to fix this?

You need to do a lot of reading first to understand, what you are doing. There are plenty of guides on how and what to do to achieve perfect hackintosh. E.g. in your case you need to install PS2 kexts.

I am in a similar situation, I was successfully able to load 10.6 on my T60. I can only use the a usb keyboard and mouse, the T60 mouse and keyboard are disabled after applying the Empire EFI bootloader fix.
I am having trouble understanding how to apply the kext and where I need to fine them. I have a T60 2007. I need to get my gpu drivers install, wireless, nic etc. I've looked at many post but still confused how to get the kext installed.

bozilla's guide and then
my guide. Trust me, spend 1 hour on careful reading now and you will be able sort out most of your problems.

I've start to read over this a little bit. Does it matter if I have not used the usb method? I did a straight dvd install using Empire and installed the fix. Thats where I am at as of now. I can only use a keyboard and usb mouse because the t60 keyboard stopped working after I applied the boot loader fix. So here is an update, I was able to get sound and a few other drivers loaded by using the kexthelper app, but I am still have no luck getting the laptop keyboard and mouse to work. The vodoops2controller.pkg. goes through the install, then I reboot but disables when the OS boots up. Any ideas?

You need to be able to place custom kext manually into either /S/L/E or /E/E, not using installers. Proper kext for ThinkPad PS2 is available
here.
Install method doesn't really matter as long as you use vanilla installation DVD image. I can only assume it is not the case with Empire. You will be better off starting from scratch, using bozilla's guide and then moving on to my guide for more advanced stuff.

I downloaded the thinkpadultranav for the mouse and keyboard, inside the main folder there are two sub folders, one names "snow_i386-x64". Inside contains the thinkpadultranav.kext, I placed the kext that into the extensions folder and then rebooted, now my T60 hangs at the grey apple screen. What am I doing incorrectly?

You need to download prepacked VoodooPS2 package:
VoodooPS2Controller_ThinkPad_i386_x64.zip and you need to have AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext, and you need to place both to either /S/L/E or /E/E.

Finally! Thanks man now does it matter which folder I place the kext files in, can I place them all in the EE folder? Now when I reboot, I keep getting gray apple screen, what could be the cause of this, is this a kernal panic LOL?

1) Read the guide to understand difference between /E/E and /S/L/E
2) Boot with "-v" to see what's happening, this shows boot log instead of grey logo
3) List all your
custom kexts in /E/E and /S/L/E, otherwise it is hard to understand what's going wrong

What do you mean when you say boot from -v? I am suppose to hit "-v" at the gray boot up screen to see the log?

Hit anything a couple of time
before grey logo appears. Bootloader will pause and allow you to enter boot options. You can then type "-v" and hit "Enter".

Edit your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and include the following key with your correct resolution:

I ran into another kernal panic again, I did the -v like you mentioned before the gray boot up screen. I get a little boot: section in the lower left hand corner, but its not clear what I need to do from here.

Make a photo of your KP screen, and post it here. Otherwise it is really hard to give any advice.

What screen would you like to see?, I know this is a silly question but how do I insert a photos here? I don't see a insert option here to upload photos.

If you boot with "-v", you should see boot log on the screen during the start-up. If you have a kernel panic during start-up, you will see some additional KP related information on the screen (instead of grey logo).

I think there are some kexts file from bozilla kext package, that is causing the kernel panics. I am using some of the kexts from the Vanilla_10.6.2_t60p_2007cq8_pkg.zip. I am not sure if there is much difference between the T60 and T60p kext files. I want to find the correct basic kexts for the T60 for snow leopard.
I was able to edit the for the resolution but I am still have trouble with kernal panics, so when this happens I need to re image the HD to start over again.
