Here's my new DSDT (http://www.mediafire.com/?g093x8nbxcqnwqv) and AppleHDA.kext (http://www.mediafire.com/?b7gzr2c2yr4k66b)

I added the HDEF device to my previous DSDT, and the new patched AppleHDA works better than VoodooHDA (which was giving me KPs and sound delays sometimes). It seems to me, the AppleHDA works faster than VoodooHDA - I had some delays editing source code in XCode, and now they vanished away.

Credits for AppleHDA go to vampyrex13 from osx86 forum for the files and to grandflash who pointed the link to that post.

P.S. It seems to me we need some kind of Wiki for all these hacks we made.

And this my DSDT. Two versions:

dsdt cst usb fix FAN SSDT.dsl - with SSDT tables for Core2Duo with 1.6 GHz.

dsdt cst usb fix FAN cst3.dsl - only CST fix without SSDT tables - i use it in combination of COOLBOOK.se - cause I can set a certain cpu-speed with it then

My Extra folder:

Additional Kext files in System/Library/Extensions: (without AppleHDA.kext + AppleSerial for Tablet)

Anastasius,

I got my x61s finally working great, with sound too! I did a new install and used your previous dsdt.aml file and voodhooHDA.kext. I occasionaly loose sound after installing some applications but after running pfix and rebooting sounds seems to be fine. Where would this AppleHDA go into? Extra\Extensions? or somewhere else? And are you supposed to delete the existing VoodhooHDA?

Great to hear it! Yep, you have to delete the VoodooHDA and copy AppleHDA into /S/L/E
I didn't try the Extra\Extensions - you can try it yourself and tell if it works :)

Hi Anastasius,
thanks for the tablet driver. Working great. Can you tell me, if your screen can rotated by 90 ° ? If i do it, my screen shows artifacts.

Try booting again from USB; then when you see the HD appear in the middle of the screen, hit any key, and choose the HD where you installed OS X. Once there, run the kext utility again, then reboot. It's not at all unusual to have a bit of a problem 1st boot.

I tried this, but the unfortunately the problem is with DSDT file (gma3100) , because i hear sound (volume up and down) but i don't see anything

edit:
after 100 restarts system I finally found a method to boot - I have to enter the DSDT=/Extra/DSDTstable.aml and wait until run circle stops, then starts normally

very strange :-)

I've had the same grey screen after installation on my T60.
You need to add to your /Extra/com.apple.boot.plist this code:

Code: Select all

<key>device-properties</key>
<string>6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff0400100000006d006f00640065006c0000000b000000474d4120393530200000004100410050004c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000</string>
To do that, i've used my external monitor (connect it before turning on your thinkpad).

Maybe in "Single user mode" you can use some kind of "vim"-editor, but i dont know if it exist (or if you know what are you doing - try to boot into ubuntu, install hfsutils, hfsprogs, hfsplus packages, check for errors with fsck_hfs, then mount hfs+ partition, and add those strings to plist file)

Or, maybe, you can patch your DSDT, but i don't know how :)

I'm just becoming interested in setting up a dual- or triple-boot system for my X60T, but I don't have a Mac OSX 10.6 disk. I'm about to buy one somewhere, but do I need to get the 10.6.0 disk specifically? Or can I use the latest 10.6.x disk available from Apple?

If I need the 10.6.0 disk specifically, is there a part number I can search for to make sure I get the right one?

Thanks,

Phil.

This depends on whether you want to partition your hard disk using a GUID Partition Table (GPT) or a MBR Partition Table: If you decide for a GPT, you can simply buy the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail box without paying any attention to the question which pressing (= version) it contains. If you however want to use a MBR Partition Table, for instance because Windows XP is rather annoying to be set up with a GPT (I've published an article about that elsewhere), you will need to prepare a custom install medium from your Snow Leopard Install DVD by adding the capacity to the Mac OS X installer to install to an MBR partitioned hard disk. The resources to do that are included in Sebinouse's package, so you should have a look at them and see which Snow Leopard versions can be used with them (currently 10.6.0 and 10.6.3 I believe).

Hope this helps! :-)

hey guys, I really think this is a great Project, I had prior success installing OSX on a Pentium 4 Desktop as well as my Thinkpad T40

I have now ordered my Thinkpad X60T (ebay 160€ ) just because of this project ..

I also own a real MacBook pro .

but here comes my first Problem, I cannot Boot from the USB drive after applying the chameleon Patch, before applying any patches I can boot from it and install OSX but as soon as I apply the patches my USB drive is non-bootable anymore, the funny thing is in OSX system settings I can set my startup disk to be the USB drive but, i won't actually boot from it ... also when I press alt during boot the usb drive never shows up as a choice to boot from, I also tried to boot of another USB HDD with no success either .

is there anyway I can force to boot from the USB Drive?

Update: with Charmeleon R5 , my USB key is bootable again, but its not starting the setup its stuck at the grey screen /Apple Logo ... can I somehow boot the installer in verbose mode?

Thanks to the wonderful guide I have been running 10.6.6 on my X60 c2d tablet for a few weeks now, and it is working perfectly. Including tablet support, 1400x1050, etc.
For the time being I used a USB wifi stick for wireless networking because of the integrated non-recognized Intel wifi card.

Today I replaced the card with the official IBM Atheros Wifi AR5BXB6 card that I believe is supported by Os X ? The card is working perfectly in my Windows 7 install on the same machine, but Os X decides not to boot anymore. I can only boot in safe mode. I get the following exception:

Code: Select all

...
Atheros: mac 10.3 phy 6.1 radio 10.0
Unable to obtain BE Output Queue
start [/SourceCache/AirPortDriverAtheros5424/AirPortDriverAtheros5424-411.19.4/src/common/lmac/ath_dev/darwin/AtherosController.cpp:1149] load failed

....
Error code: 0x00000010

....
Does somebody has any idea what is going wrong?

The OS X preference pane for boot drives has no impact on Hackintoshes at all.

Press F12 after Power-On to get your BIOS boot list.

Yes, on the ThinkPad, of course (okay, I now see where the problem was). Chameleon was written to give Hackintoshes an equivalent to your MacBook's EFI that's simply not present on a ThinkPad. It won't work with a real Intel Macintosh.

I've got an X61 tablet (1400x1050 screen, WACF008) I just picked up that seems to be largely up and running with 10.6.6 based on the instructions here, but I'm having trouble getting TabletMagic (2.0b17d2) to work. I've got the tablet enabler kext loading, serial0 shows up in TabletMagic, the messages TabletMagic sends to the console all seem fine (no obvious errors except for an intermittent error with renice that does not otherwise seem to affect loading), but I get absolutely no response to the tablet pen with nothing at all changing in the testing tab.

What should I try next? Am I missing something obvious?

edit: I can verify that data of some sort is coming from the tablet digitizer: if I run "cat /dev/cu.serial0" I get various junk printed to the terminal in reaction to putting the tablet pen in proximity to the screen, moving it, tapping, etc.

Update: after reboot it now shows "ISD V4.0 (Tablet PC)... still when i am using the pen nothing happens ?

Update: works... its magic :)

https://bitbucket.org/ilg/macwj/ <= MacWJ is my attempt at a simple paper-like writing application. It's bare-bones and definitely still a work in progress, but I did just use it to give a 75-minute workshop today (on my X41t, since my X61 still isn't working with the tablet pen).

(To get a Vanilla /S/L/E ?)
