Hackintosh IBM Thinkpad G40

Hello, Everyone


I have an IBM Thinkpad G40, Can i run OSX86 on it.

Here are the spec's:

IBM Thinkpad G40
Intel Pentium 4 (2.95 Ghz)
512 Ram
Intel 82852

I don't know if you can as OS-X requires SSE3 instruction set within the cpu. Pentium 4's afaik didn't support that instruction set.

i can boot him up. I Have succesfully installed but after the welcome screen turns it bleu an black some time.

Hi Patrick,

Sorry I couldn't have gotten to you sooner!

I used iAtkos V5i DVD on my G40 and followed this video exactly:

Mine is in a P4, 3.0 GHZ w/ 1.5GB RAM. Leopard 10.5.5 runs okay (slow) but you'll have no wifi, and no sound at first. It took a lot of googling to get the sound to work but still no wifi via PCMCIA card.

I did update to 10.5.6 but had to buy an external USB WIFI stick "Trendnet TEW-424UB" to get the wifi to work. Thing is though, you'll have to have all your USB gadgets plugged in prior to booting up 10.5.6 as for some reason it won't recognize any USB ports when already on!

It was too much of a hassle to get it to work so I just ended up putting WIN7 Ultimate on it instead!
