Trackpoint and touchpad both not working

#1 Post by NautilusIII » Thu Jul 01, 2010 5:49 pm

Hi!

I have installed on an IBM w500 (Modell: 4061-BL5).
After installation system stars up (only if I start with -v -x -f), but neither the internal keyboard nor the trackpoint or touchpad is working.

Based on what I found out by searching through this forum I tried ApplePS2Controller as well as VoodooPS2Controller; I also tried just deleting the Trackpad Plugin (an approach that often seems to help) without success.

Any ideas?

How exactly did you try it? Which kexts did you use? There are should be two kexts for PS2 - AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and wither ApplePS2Controller.kext or VoodooPS2Controller.kext.

I never did anything with AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext; I think this was always there.
I once additionally installed ApplePS2Controller.kext, and another time I tried VoodooPS2Controller.kext - both without success.

Meanwhile I tried a myHack based install; so far without success, too (again keyboard and trackpoint issues).

Don't forget to run pfix or kextutility to repair permissions et rebuild proper kextcaches ...

My trackpoint in my R60e isnt working.
What kext do i need?

I've tried several, but I'm getting insecure I'm doing it right.
Previously I've used Kext Utility to install the kexts and clean up the permissions.

Installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 with iAKTOS S3 version 2, everything except wifi and the trackpoint is working.

First post btw ;)

EDIT:
Nevermind, I managed to get it working.
Found a kext collection for R60. Removed ApplePS2Touchpad from the ApplePs2Controller
Putted it in Extra/Extensions
ran pfix
rebooted

its all good.
