I have never tried installing OSX on thinkpads before. Is there a very simple step by step guide to installing OSX on Thinkpad R500. If possible I would like to duel boot with Windows 7.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First you have to find out precicely which hardware you have (you can use
this page for that).
Then you must find out if this hardware is compatible with OSX ( just search on google adding "OSX86", or on insanely mac)
You can also read the last post of
this thread ... might be useful ...
I think the myhack or iPortable are the best to begin with ...
Good luck !
(btw if you have GMA4500, bad luck, it will only work without acceleration ...and you can dualboot with 7)

Thanks for the info.
My thinkpad R500 has p8600 cpu with GMA4500 and no bluetooth.
I managed to install the iatkos version of OSX via DVD but the keyboard and the touch pad does not work.
I have to use the external keyboard and and a mouse.
Would installing the correct kext files solve my keyboard and touchpad problem?
BTW, I have successfully installed SL(retail version) on my ASUS eee PC1000HE using the netbook installer. With the correct kext files installed, video, sound, ethernet, wifi, keyboard, ,bluetooth, touchpad, and cam works on my ASUS eee PC1000HE.
I was hoping to get similar success on my thinkpad R500.
