Snow Leopard on an X220
Snow Leopard on an X220
Hey guys.
So the X220 that is coming out has nearly identical specifications than the 13 inch MacBook Pro, so installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a X220 should be fairly easy, correct?
How would I go about doing this when I (hopefully) get the X220 in a month or two?
Thank you!

Re: Snow Leopard on an X220
1. The X220 has a much better processor and only 10-15% slower graphics card
2. I want to dual-boot with Windows and Mac OS X, I only want OS X to run a single game that is OS X exclusive (ironically).
3. The X220 has longer battery life

Re: Snow Leopard on an X220
I think that some people at Tonymacx86 have installed SL on Sandy Bridge desktop. Not sure about mobile.
People have had a hell of time with Intel HD graphics on i3/i5/i7 and before that on GMA 4500m. I don't know of successful installation of fully supported graphics on notebooks.
Apple may have done something to prevent Os X installations with Sandy Bridge, though one can hope.
If you want to run Mac Os X and Windows, your options include Os X as virtual machine on PC's, Apple sanctioned dual booting on macbook pro, though drivers support may not be where you want, and run windows through VM with a mbp.
Let us know if you get somewhere with SL on X220.

...and the X220 (as most other ThinkPad models) have an option to have built in 3G/UMTS which is a killer feature for me. I hope that in summer Apple will update the Airs to include the same option. This is required for a highly portable business machine.

Re: Snow Leopard on an X220
In case anyone finds this post, as I did when searching for info on OS X on the X220 - I was able to install 10.6 in VirtualBox using the method outlined here:
http://randosity.wordpress.com/2010/06/ ... irtualbox/
I used the most recent EFI bootloader here:
http://blog.nawcom.com/?p=446
and a retail OS X 10.6 install DVD.
Hope this helps someone looking to add OS X to their X220.
