Need help getting the fingerprint reader working for login

#1 Post by ganon11000 » Sat Jan 25, 2014 4:32 pm

I have a lenovo 3000 N200 07?? I need help with the fingerprint software. Every time I tick use fingerprint for windows login it unticks next time I open settings. How do I fix this?

Windows Vista X64
Latest fingerprint drivers
IBM Thinkpad A31 2.0GHz Pentium 4, 768MB RAM, 40GB HDD and a ATI 7500 16MB shimmed
Lenovo T420 4236-PA8: WiFi card replaced with a Broadcom one (fixes most DPC latency), 64GB Crucial M4 SSD added as OS drive, original HDD in a DVD to HDD caddy.

If I were you, I would:
- DISable the FPR in the BIOS
- UNinstall all FPR related software
- remove palmrest and DISconnect the FPR (if you are technical enough).
Those FPRs are sort of semi-working in the business Thinkpads, but in the El Cheapo versions like the 3000 series I wouldn't trust them at all!
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

The hardware is fine. it's just the horrific software :/
BTW I only use it for quick login ;)

I solved it with a install of windows 8 and the ThinkPad software for windows 7 X64 :)
