I am Lost

#1 Post by Ray khan » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:04 pm

It will take my few days to learn the ropes of Forum format and discussions.
I can't find any forum for Lenovo E530c. There might be a broader category that I am not familiar with.

I had to reinstall Windows 7-32 bit on this lap top.
Now all my drivers are gone.
Bigger problem is the issue with Network Adopter. I keep on gettingt the message that " Network Adopter not found"
I have no idea where to go from here.

Any help will be greatly apprecaited.
I am a structural engineer by professsion and have very very basic knowledge in this area.

Thanks

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

A Lenovo E530c would be considered here in this forum as a Thinkpad Edge. The forum for those machines is here:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewforum.php?f=60

Once you respond to this post, I'll move the thread into that forum. You can always find threads you have posted in by clicking the link near the top right of the page labelled "Your posts". This will work even if your original post has been moved to another forum.

I don't have any experience with any of the Edge systems so I can't offer much in the way of specific guidance. I do have some questions which could help later on for offering a solution to your problem:

1) What version of Windows 7 32-bit did you use to reinstall the OS? Was it a "retail" disk; one that was not configured for a specific brand of computer, or was it something else?

2) Click on the Start icon (lower left of Desktop), right-click on Computer, and then click on Properties. You will see a window called "Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System. On the left at the top, click the link named "Device Manager". That will open the Device Manager window. Are there any yellow exclamation points? If so, on which line(s) do they appear?

Generally, Windows should be able to identify the hardware in the system and install a basic driver. However, in some cases you will need a factory driver. You can find the E530c drivers here:

Also, f you install the lenovo system update application and run it, it should grab all the necessary drivers and install them for you.
