icehawk, welcome to the forums. i just want to let you know i will try to get back to you on your osx86 audio unless you have found a solution. if you have found a solution, then please share with the forum. one thing that can help me speed up a solution for you is to tell me what kind of audio you use and what iso of osx you are using.

Hi Guy,
Thanks so much for replying to my post!
I have not found the solution to my quandary yet.
I have a Lenovo 3000 N100.
I am using The JaS 10.4.7 DVD, however, I have several other install disks available to me.

My Onboard Audio is :
Sound Device: Soundmax Intergrated Digital HD Audio
device & vendor id = 0x11D41986
System Device: Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio
device & vendor id= 0x27D88086

I have tried many "solutions" found on the net and am now quiet experienced in kext modification , terminal syntax and so forth. I, as a result, am able to see what appears to be the loaded Azalia Extention in audio and midi setup , working volume controls etc but have no sound output.

I would be more than grateful if you can help me with this!

no internal speaker sound at least from what i gather from insanelymac... have you tried plugging your laptop line outs or headphones out to a sound receiver?

Hi,
Yes I have tried that. It would be my preferred way to get sound out. I also have an Echo Indigo PCMCIA sound device but I gather that there is no chance of that working at present.
Apart from the lack of onboard sound I have a fully funtional "Mac".
I am able to use a cheap USB Sound device " http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Tab ... &doy=23m10 " with no problems.
However, It lessens the portability of the Laptop.
