#1 Post by knuckless69 » Sat Nov 04, 2006 2:17 pm

Does the n100 support only pc5300 sodimms?
I just got 2 1gb pc4200 sticks and at startup i get a message that the ram is incompatible

Is that how it's supposed to be? No backward compatibility???

Hi.

Lenovo N100s use Intel's 945GM/PM Express chipsets, which support up to 4GB of DDR2 400, 533 and 667 (i.e. DDR2 PC3200, 4200 and 5300) memory.

It should work. What is the message you get? Did you test your memory on an other laptop?
T43 2668-92G (upgraded to 1GB RAM) (don't have it anymore)
X60 1709-H6U (upgraded to 2GB RAM)
T60 1951-A47

this is the message i get and that is the ram
i didn't get a chacne to test it on other laptops. but since i have 2 and bought them new, it's a pretty remote chance that they are both faulty
