Rescue and recovery - as a start up option?

#1 Post by dim » Wed Nov 08, 2006 6:40 am

Hi,
is there a way to get booting the IBM_System partition as a start up option. For example:
1. Windows XP Home
2. Linux
3. IBM_Service

...is it just about editing boot.ini or it will be more complicated?
Any help will be apreciated!

That way is pretty easy, you just need to figure out what directory is the one you need to point that boot option to. It is either in preboot or the minint section.

Alright, how do I do that. IBM_Service is not accessible from Windows. I can see it through Linux, but what should I add to the boot.ini then?

Does anyone happen to know if I can edit the Lenovo hot button(that actually points to the hidden partition)?
