Hello Everyone,
I'm new and have just joined so 'HELLO' and i hope your be gentile with me.
I recently got my house burgled and the thief stole my laptop. It has now been replaced by the insurance company with a Lenovo 3000 N100.
My problem is that i'm not very clued up on computers and I find that this new one appears to be running really slowly.
The only thing I generally have running is a web browser and a 'limewire' type package that downloads songs, films etc.
Even with just these two things running it seems to take ages to switch from one to the other or load up a web page.
As its a new laptop are there various software packages that automatically come with it that I don't need and can safely remove ? or am I doing something wrong, Please help.
The processor is a 1.6 ghz, if this helps.
Thanks
Running really slow !!!

Tell us more about the specs of this laptop. What operating system are you running? How much RAM do you have? If you're running Windows Vista and have only 512MB, increasing it to 1GB or more will definitely speed things up.

Limewire = Spyware and Adware
If you are running Limewire there is a very high chance the machine is now loaded with spyware and adware slowing the machine down. Download the trial for Sunbelt Counterspy:

Run it and see if you're infected.
