fingerprint reader

Did a reload of XP Pro on a 3000 N100 that came with Vista (which I abhor). I have the fingerprint reader driver installed, but the 5.6 version of fingerprint reading software that is available on the Lenovo website does not work for the 3000 series of laptops.

Did the 3000 series that came with XP MCE installed have a fingerprint reader that worked?

I'd try this, but I don't own this laptop, and I don't have access to the one I work on right now. I'd try searching for drivers under the c100, and then sort is by the OS XP. If there is software there (I' m assuming that the c100 came with a print reader option) it should work on the N100. I'm looking for this software too, now that we have working sound, so if you beat me to a solution, would you let me know?

Acer has same fingerprint scanner and when I was running Vista on my 3000 N100 I used the acer download and it ran flawlessly

read carefully Lenovo/IBM support cautions.

Hello, this version 5.6 is a UPEK software (protector QL) that is supplied for THINKPADs ONLY. Lenovo fingerprints are Authentec ones and are compatible with Omnipass ONLY, that's all ;)
