Hey everybody,
A friend of mine owns a Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-DLU. This computer came preinstalled with Windows XP Home SP2, but it was purchased in the fall of '06 during the time when Microsoft and various PC manufacturers were handing out next-to-free copies (after rebate) of Vista to computers purchased between November '06 and March '07 (their Vista Express Upgrade program, handled by Moduslink).
They received a copy of Vista Home Premium 32-bit, and installed it. It was kind of a pain to upgrade, because at the time that they received it, Lenovo had not yet finished getting Vista-compatible versions of several utilities ready. Ever since, there have been problems here and there with the computer, and I am wondering if it wouldn't be better if we just backed up all the data, wiped the drive, and re-installed. Not to mention that the R&R partition became completely screwed after upgrading from XP to Vista.
I would really like to be able to re-install from the official recovery media for their model so that everything is set up as if the computer came with Vista installed straight from the factory. I may be naive, and after trying this we may decide to reformat and just install straight from the official Vista media, but I would like to try this first.
Soooo...anybody have a copy of FRU 43T7666 (yeah...ominous, eh?)? That's the part number given by the N100 HMM for Vista Home Premium 32-bit. If someone could make me a copy and send them to me, that would be great. I can either send you blanks with a self-addressed, prepaid/stamped envelope, or just reimburse you for your trouble + materials.
Also, if anyone also happens to have 43T4462 (XP Home for the N100), I'd like to get a copy of those too. Apparently, recovery discs were never burned before they upgraded from XP to Vista.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
No thanks to anyone here
I FINALLY got hold of Vista Home Premium recovery discs for the N100. I had totally forgotten that a mutual friend of BOTH of ours had purchased an N100 last year that came stock with Vista. We burned his recovery CD set, I made a copy, and used it to re-install Vista on the first friend's computer. It runs soooo much better now, and there are several Lenovo apps that never really worked quite right after the first upgrade attempt that are now working just fine.
