Hi All,
Can you HELP with an annoying issue I have?
I have a 3000 N100 running XP Pro SP3 2GB RAM 1+1 - connects to 4-port cable router (Online)
User is in Administrator gp of home WORKGROUP
ESET Smart Security 3 Anti Virus+Firewall+Counter Spy
Last windows updates I think were in june 2009.
The issue is that I cannot use my Realtek RTL8139/810x NIC anymore.
This started months ago, but I used my USB to LAN adapter as a work a round, now I have time to look for a solution.
1. Today I un installed driver
2. Restarted laptop
3. searched realtek site and dloaded latest driver
4. installed new driver
5. laptop BSOD
6. restated laptop
7. Uninstalled driver
8.Updated driver + re installed ok
9. Changed old network cable for new cable
Still cannot connect every now + again it attempts to connect to router to receive an IP address but fails.
I have never dropped laptop so I don't think it's hardware BUT can never rule these things out!
Have logged in as Administrator, also in SAFE mode no changes, checked services.
Wish I had a USB micro-scope diagnostic to see If were hardware.
Where do I go from here.
HELP If you can..
