RAM for Lenovo 3000 N100

#1 Post by Georgecb » Tue Aug 11, 2009 2:32 pm

Hi

I have a 3 year old Lenovo laptop 3000 N100 type 0768 6UG which currently has 1.5gb RAM.

I want to upgrade this to 3gb which I understand is the maximum Windows XP Pro will recognise. Lenovo do not sell 2gb modules for this model but have advised me that it should be possible to upgrade to 3gb using RAM bought elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me if they have managed to add 3gb of RAM to this model and if so, what type of RAM I need.

Many thanks

George

Just replace the 512MB module with any DDR2 200-pin memory, PC5300 or faster. The memory cover is on the rear/

I purchased the following from Lenovo:
2GB PC2-4200 NP DDR2 SODIMM
P/N 73P3846 S/N: L3AP789

It delivers an unsupported error.

I just ordered 2GB DDR2 PC-5300 for $25 online.
