G50-70 - Can i7 system board be used on this and replace i5?

#1 Post by holdenburg » Sun Aug 16, 2015 9:48 pm

I have a g50-70 and it came with an i5 processor - can the i7 system board fit this model? Does anyone know?
I did look and search and only found references to the memory capacity -
Thank you...
Best Regards;

Does anybody know if this works? Change the G50 i5 system board to an i7?

If the i7-equipped board is also from a G50-70 series laptop, then it's very likely that you can install it in your laptop.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
Impulse Buy: Thinkpad not named for safety reasons :lol:

Try this: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mo ... es_hmm.pdf
Then check the "Parts List" in that PDF.
