U510 Bad System Config Info -bsod

Hi all,

I've really had no major issue with this lappy, but now I'm stumped. Since this passed Tuesday was the first of the month, could this be related to MS monthly updates?? I've tried to do a system restore, but my only 2 options were 4/21 and 4/30. I've tried both, and after a long progress bar, I get an error message "system restore failed". During the progress bar, the message does change to initializing then in-progress and finalizing. So, I do think something is happening and not failing right away.

I have opened her up and removed 1 stick of RAM and tried rebooting with same results. I then used the same stick of RAM and tried the second slot, still no joy. I did the same thing with the second stick of RAM, but also no joy.

Any suggestions??

Sorry, forgot to add minor details:
Windows 10 upgrade, 6gb RAM
Z61p (WUXGA)/2.16ghz/2gb/60gb, R51/1.8ghz/1gb/160gb, R40/1.5ghz/2gb/80gb, 600E/366mhz/416mb/20gb, Project R51 with SXGA+
