Edge 11 Mini-PCIe slot

Been thinking if the free Mini-PCIe slot (aka PCI Express Mini Card) in the Edge 11 subnotebook is of any use. Anybody has an idea if it's actually carrying PCIe lines, or just USB pass-through for the WWAN card?

Can I somehow discover that via some diagnostics software?

I am certain that it is just a USB pass-through slot.

No, I don't think you can.

So only option would be to use some of those dual or quad Micro-SDXC adapters, which makes no sense as SATA SSD costs the same or less as the SDXC cards, plus the cost of the adapter. So I can just use higher-capacity SSD instead.

OK than, thanks for the intel :thumbs-UP:

That is not the only option that you have, you could also use a Delock 95235 or a 95242 which could convert the USB connection in the MiniPCIe slot to a usable USB port. Then, you could attach a small USB flash drive to it. I don't know which could fit in that cramped area, though.

A second thing to note, is that the schematic seems to point out that a PCIe 1x connection is available from the WWAN slot. However, they might have removed it while it was still in development (judging from my experience), so I assume that it does not have such a connection in the production models.
