IdeaPad S10-3 Thermal Pad Replacement

#1 Post by MakeLaptopsGreatAgain » Thu Mar 10, 2022 10:25 pm

I've looked in the service manual and it does not specify what size the replacement needs to be. Anyone know what thickness/overall size I should be buying for the CPU and GPU? I just bought a T60 and based off the heat it gives off it looks like that one is going to need replacements aswell.

Welcome to the Forum.

You need a thermal pad that is only 1mm thick, no less, no more.
They come in all different sizes, so get one of maybe 25x25 mm or larger, which you can then cut up to the sizes that you need for the respective GPU chips.
Do NOT use a pad on the CPU, use only thermal paste there (such as Noctua NT-H1).
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
