Has anyone with a Glossy LCD screen tried applying the Anti-Glare film?

I recently spoke with some Mac users about the Glossy vs. Matte screens. Many of them recommended the photodon.com anti-glare film. I was not able to view the end results of the film application, however looking at the website, it seems promising.

I gave that very product some serious consideration as I have a Unibody MacBook Pro that has the horribly reflective display. However a friend took the plunge first and the result is mediocre at best. First of all it's a very miserable job to get it right, and this guys great with stickers, decals and such. Secondly once applied it gives the display a very cheap look when off, when up and running the previously nice even backlighting is now less than even in it's appearance. And while it's useable, perhaps it's just my reluctance to muck up what we all know is a very well made machine. The other option is to have the glossy panel replaced, but that's another ridiculous expense to achieve what should have been part of the computer in the first place.

So, like anything else, it's really a matter of personal preference.

Cheers....
