The above email was received in response to my inquiry as to when the S12 HWMM and Parts Manual would be available as they were for other ideaPad models. In an earlier phone inquiry to the Support Center regarding this I was told that "Customers are not allowed inside the S12" and "we will not honor the warranty if the covers have been removed". Further conversation of course clarified that the warranty would be honored unless the customer obviously damaged the machine.

Could this be an indication that Lenovo will no longer provide customers with access to HWMM and Parts information as they have in the past?

I don't think that they've ever provided the HMM and parts info for ideaPads outside the S12e (and very S12 similar models), have they? I thought the only reason they even provided that was because the S12e was sold into the educational market, ie a "business" model?

S9E, S10, S10e all have them. As far as I know ALL THINKPADS have them. Not sure about the rest of the IdeaPads. I'm sure the S12 manuals, as well as ALL Lenovo models, have manuals available for Service Providers who need them. But it seems they may have decided to not make them available on-line for the S12, unfortunately.
