No Rescue & Recovery on my S10

#1 Post by redburgundy » Thu Feb 25, 2010 7:27 pm

I bought the 4333-36U for $250 from CompUSA, and everything is fine except I can't find Rescue & Recovery or a way to make recovery discs.
The reviews talk about One Key Recovery, by pushing the button with the arch icon. But when I push that button I get a screen overlay with options for six Microsoft applications.
The reviews talk about a D:\ partition for recovery but my hard drive came without a D:\ partition.
When I start the computer and try to hit F11 at startup, the computer simply stops booting and does nothing until I push the power button to turn it off. Any advice?

I don't know about the S10, but he U350 I saw had an option to make the recovery discs. I would expect the same of the S10. They don't re-invent the wheel for every machine. Did you look in the programs folder? I think it lets you make images too. You could dump them onto an external drive and burn on another PC if you don't have an external optical drive.

I found the OneKey Recovery program for the 4231 series
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/Dr ... w_237.html
and installed it OK on my 4333. And the button with the orange arch now starts OKR rather than a quick start overlay.
