X220 blinking power button - EEPROM fail?

#1 Post by wujstefan » Sat Aug 12, 2017 4:39 pm

A friend of mine has brought me his X220 unit.

Just out of nowhere, it refused to boot. Power button blinks (~1/2Hz), but no other reaction for anything.
I tried to remove all and any removable parts that do not require disassembling the whole unit and plug them again, but with no success.

Since this guy does not operate with big money (actually he finds it difficult to operate with any money) I'm trying to find other solution than just swapping the motherboard. My head just pumps out two sentences: "Mobo failure" and "EEPROM". Ideas?
