x220 wont boot

hi all newbie here iv got a x220 that wont boot .on startup goes to preparing automatic repair then diagnosing pc then automatic repair couldnt repair .n bios iv got uefi bios version 1.39 iv tried to load setup defaults but it skips passed tried to do full reset wont do im prob out of my depth here just beenwatching youtube vids i also get system bios &vdeo shadowed any help plz

Try to get the installation media for your OS and do a repair install.

Sounds a bit like a MBR problem - master boot record

Search repair MBR Windows __

You will still need the Windows installation disc to repair the MBR. If you don't have one, find one. This is for Windows 7, but I think 8 and 8.1 is the same.
