Hi! I have a Lenovo x201 from ages, but must change the display (black tripe widening).
There are a few x300 on sale in Hungary, will the display of x300 suitable for my x201?
Has anyone tried it before?
I'd need a quite urgent answer, because i love my lenovo.
They are entirely different laptops so their lids assemblies are different, and the X300 uses a larger 13.3" LCD the LTD133EQ1B, it's a 1 channel 6 bit 40 pin LVDS LCD. It's also an awful LCD.
You can try to upgrade to an X200s or X201s lid assembly with the 1440x900 LCD, it deletes the webcam. Otherwise your best bet is to get a replacement of one of the original 1280x800 LCDs used in the X201:
I've learned from obscure web searching that the X300's LCD uses a nonstandard LVDS pinout so it can't be used on any other machine, not that anyone should want to since it's an awful viewing experience.
X201s or X200s with the 1440x900 LCD needs more than just the LCD itself, practically you'd need the entire lid assembly. If an entire lid assembly or even entire laptop was on hand to swap the entire lid assembly from, it'd be worth it. Otherwise, no.
It will be easiest to seek a direct replacement LCD, probably one of the following:

I need to change the fan in my T410, or think I do anyway...its not running anymore but might be just clogged and jammed. Anyway i pulled the fan out...
