x201 non-working networking

Ethernet and wireless don't work on my x201. Just bought a daughterboard that the ebay ad said contained the ethernet controller. Didn't work. Done the obvious btw, like making sure the side switch is on. Any areas to look, thinking something shot on the motherboard?

Already tried most of those. Will continue with the other suggestions, but none of those posts address a non-working ethernet. At one point I did put in a wifi card from another thinkpad, the computer did see that car but rejected it (whitelist). I'll get back after trying the rest. Thanks.
