I am having a problem sending files to my x220 via bluetooth.
The bluetooth is working, and I am able to synchronize my phone (Nokia E71) vi bluetooth.
However, when I am unable to send files to x220. When I try to send a file from my phone or another computer, the x220 responds with a 'pling' -- presumably alerting me that I should accept a bluetooth connection. However, there is no doalog or popup, that would let me do so. After about a minute of waiting for a response, my phone gives up, and informs me that file sending has failed.
I have tried to set the NokiaE71 BT Authorization option in X220 to 'Always allow this device to connect for all operations.' Even after set this option, the same thing happens. What's more, after reboot, the option is always reset to 'Require confirmation for all operations from this Bluetooth device.' Resulting in a 'pling' with no way to confirm the operation.
anyone knows a way around this thing?
x220 Bluetooth authorization problem
Re: x220 Bluetooth authorization problem
Ok... a step closer to the solution. After loooong day of plaing with this, I found that there was a 'Bluetooth Tray Application' set to 'hide icon and notifications.' Now that I have fixed that, I get a notification that I have to click to open a window where I can accept the incoming file transfer.
So now I can at least receive files, although it is still a pain. I would like to be able to sit on a couch and send files from my phone or my T42 straight to X220. But... There is an option to 'ALWAYS ALLOW THIS DEVICE TO ACCES MY COMPUTER'S FILE TRANSFER SERVICE," which is not diabled, but simply does always reset back to requiring authorization, no matter how I try to change it.
Is there some idiotic Windows security switch I will need to switch before I will be allowed to use this option?
