Can the X201 support 2x 8GB ram modules?
I see that the new X220 can thanks to changes that Intel made, however I'm wondering if this is possible in the X201 as well?

According to thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X201: "2, 3 or 4GB PC3-8500 or PC3-10600 memory standard, upgradable to 8GB".bluefrisbee wrote:I see that the new X220 can thanks to changes that Intel made, however I'm wondering if this is possible in the X201 as well?

Yes but as far as I know it was not well known that the X220 could be taken to 16GB, can someone with more up to date info comment?rumbero wrote: According to thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X201: "2, 3 or 4GB PC3-8500 or PC3-10600 memory standard, upgradable to 8GB".

The T410 supports 8GB modules. I'd be very surprised if the X201 didn't as well.bluefrisbee wrote:Yes but as far as I know it was not well known that the X220 could be taken to 16GB, can someone with more up to date info comment?

Here is another discussion that supports that 16gb of RAM is possible:

Link to the exact memory module parts you're using? I can't seem to find this anywhere. What version of Windows and what SP are you running?rsutoratosu wrote:oh yeah i reply in the other thread.. but another user says it locks up in windows on his. Mine works fine
