What is the recommended 160GB SSD for an X201

Intel, Crucial? I understand that the X201 is SATA II only, so I don't want to overpay for a new SSD that is Sata 3. Any suggestions? I'm currently running the 5400 RPM platter option that was offered on the X201.

You wont notice any difference between SATA II or III anyway with a single drive, so it's irrelevant.

I'm running Intel 320 160GB SSD drives in my X200, T400 and X220, and am very happy with them in all those systems.

Is it worth the upgrade over the 5400 RPM ~200GB drive? I do a lot of software development, so compilation and builds can be an issue. I also find the swapping to disk very slow (granted I'm running 2GB of RAM on this and about to upgrade to 16GB and 64bit Windows 7).

Anything else I need, is it easy to install?

I'm a software developer also. In a word, yes. In more than one word you'll be kicking yourself that you didn't do it a while ago.

I'm running a 80gb Intel 320 in my X200s, and like Bill I have been very satisfied. Provided this cyber Monday rebate from Intel comes through I will have got it for a great price too...

It is definitely faster than the 5400rpm drive in my old X60s, and although it is noticeably than the 7200rpm drive that was in my X200s before the difference is not mind bending. Almost more than anything I bought it for the benefit of silence, my machine is literally almost silent now, whereas with the 7200 drive it sounded like it was about to take off.
