A replacement battery for x220

Hello,

I have 9-cell battery for my x220, but I'd like to keep another 6-cell.
However, currently 6-cell battery costs about $75~80. This is pretty expensive for my budget.
I've looked up the FRUs and other possible compatible batteries for x220, but found no answer.
Has anybody found 3rd-party or batteries from other models that's compatible with x220?
(I once heard a rumor that x200, x201 batts are compatible with x220, but found no proof)

Thanks in advance!

i own a t61 so its not directly relevant to your question but my battery died an year ago and I have used a couple of OEM's you can get off e-bay/amazon.
They all promise warranty but honestly they all became useless within 2-3 months top and not a single vendor would reply to warranty questions.

So if I was you I would just spurge now, but make sure you don't get an old battery. 75-80 bucks for an origional 6 cell seems cheap from what i was being asked to pay for t61 battery. (Most batteries die in 3 years~).

Now I think about it. It is very risky to buy 3rd party battery. I guess I'll save up and buy a genuine one.

X200/201 batteries are definitely not compatible with x220. X230 batteries are compatible. I have first hand experience with batteries from all fo these models, and attempting to switch them around. My personal experience with non Lenovo batteries has been "not good".
