X300 LCD replacement

#1 Post by andy2000 » Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:03 am

I need to replace a damaged LCD on an X300, but I'm shocked at how expensive they are. It uses an LTD133EQ1B, and I'm seeing prices from $250-$450! It would be cheaper to buy a whole X300 and sell the damaged one for parts. Is there a cost effective LCD replacement available anywhere? Are there any other non-glossy LCDs that will fit?

$250 is that how cheap they are over there!!! I'd snap it up if I were you. Here the cheapest domestic supplier is $960. I think some of the overseas ones are cheaper but then tax etc will kick in.
If I needed a new one I thought I would just have to buy another used machine and cannibalise it.

ps. As I understand it no other screen fits.

Been in that position,
There is no alternative screen, only that screen will fit.
It was made specifically for this laptop.
And as a result no replacement exists..
And it will always be expensive, unless you somehow luck out.

It may well be cheaper to buy another and part it out..
