Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
Just purchased a Runcore SSD (RPC-V-T501B-MC) which is compatible with the X220. I installed it. When I turn on my laptop, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor. What's going on here?

Did it boot to empty unformatted ssd instead of your old harddrive?
Re: Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
Ahhh. There is no operating system on there. Is it taking over from where my regular SSD Hard Drive would for booting? I bought my mSATA for extra storage. That's it.
Would I just have to change the boot order in the BIOS? I can't seem to access this order like I would in a normal desktop system

Re: Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
I'm running it on a tablet verison, but it should all be the same. I can't restart my machine at the moment to check, but I don't remember it being particularly hard to find. edit: Sorry, yes you'd just change it to boot off of the other harddrive.
Re: Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
Hi. I did that. I still get the cursor. When I take out the mSATA, my laptop boots as normal off of the 2.5" SSD. I can't understand what the problem is. I thought this was just plug and play.

Re: Installed mSATA SSD. Get A Black Screen With Blinking Cursor
In the boot order settings page in BIOS you should be able to identify both your 2.5 inch SSD and the mSATA ssd by name. Are you sure the 2.5 inch SSD is closer to the top than the mSATA SSD?
