Cracked my X220 LCD lid

#1 Post by netcomrade » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:14 am

Airport security has it's cons. The laptop fell flat on the casing off the belt (not their fault). While initial examination revealed no damage to the screen, now that I took it out on a bus it's obvious that I cracked the already weak casing.

I did purchase the full, technician comes to your house warranty. But is this covered? A quick search revealed that it probably isn't.. but maybe my super-warranty helps?

Or should I purchase a new casing myself? I have disassembled my old T43 recently, and it was no walk in the park, so not looking forward to it. Is there a more rigid option? I am known to be clumsy with laptops, actually surprised it lasted as long. Felt flimsy from the beginning.

That's only covered if you have the accidental or ThinkPad Protection coverage. The on-site warranty is not accidental. Who knows, maybe they'll fix it and not say anything.

Thanks ebay has it for $40. I'll try the warranty route, but I do not recall buying accidental protection (I should've)
