DIY replace motherboard on a X301

I have two 1.4 GHz X301s and one is suspected to have a bad motherboard from being dropped. I swapped other hardware like SSD and find it to be working perfectly. The screen and DVD-RW runs is fine.

Where can I get instructions to swap in a X301 motherboard since a 1.6GHz motherboard costs $200 and is worth the investment to me anyway? I prefer not to salvage the 2nd X301 and get cents on the dollar.

Disassembly instructions are in the Hardware Maintenance Manual here:

There are probably also videos on the Lenovo site.

I came across a used 1.4 motherboard recently for $100 that I'm saving as a spare for my two x301s.
If it were me I would fix the machine, but then I'm a big x301 fan.

Thanks John. Will have to get a ground strap and go to work!
