x220 msata 310 fail.

#1 Post by shredster2002 » Fri Aug 03, 2012 4:22 pm

I could use some help. I've got an x220 running win 7 with all of the latest lenovo patches, including latest bios updates. The machine is configured with lenovo option 160GB ssd. I added an intel 80 msata ssd. I only want to use the msata drive to store media. The install seemed to go fine. I booted to windows, run disk management, initialized and formated the msata drive, windows recognized the drive. I moved 30GB of data onto it. No problems. .... Until... I rebooted. The machine runs through some of the bios code and then hangs with a blinking cursor just where it normal throws the first windows splash screen. I tried a bunch of bios parameter adjustments to no avail. I ordered a new msata today, thinking the other one may have failed. Went through the same routine and ended up with the exact same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved. The boot order was wrong. Duh.
