X220, Access Connections and Mobile Broadband

I can't get this work under Windows 7 on my wife's X220. I have created a profile, entered the APN (but can't see where to enter the Number which is usually #99*). The connection will establish but there is no connectivity to the internet.

This is soooo frustrating :cry: :cry: :cry:
My X301 running Ubuntu just connects - out of the box 8)

Does anybody have any suggestions ?

Do you use Automatic or Manual WWAN connection setup mode ?
