X200s ... do they all have wxga+ screens?

#1 Post by zobbo » Thu Oct 18, 2012 2:05 pm

The question is in the subject I guess :)

Speaking to somebody selling a X200s but they claim the resolution is 1280x900. That seems an 'odd' resolution to me. Wondering if all X200s should be 1440x900 or if there is any variation?

This is to run Linux on and mostly sit within Emacs - so want the extra resolution

Many thanks for your help

Ian

Welcome to the forum!

Not all of the X200s units had WXGA+ panels. Later machines were shipped with 1280x800 in large quantities.

According to the psref book, all 7465 models were WXGA. Whereas 7466's, 7469's and 7470's could be either WXGA or WXGA+. But there may be more models not listed there.

You can get the psref book from here

The only problem is that the tabooks don't list most models that were sold outside of U.S....

Many thanks all for the friendly welcome and helpful responses.

With my new gained information I'll hold out a bit longer and see if I can source a WXGA+ model.

Many thanks once again
