I have ordered a new larger SSD and was wondering if it was possible to image the Q drive to an external drive? and when needed return it to the SSD and recover the laptop that way?
Or where my Wireless USB/ Turbo Memory should have been I have installed a dual micro sd card reader is it possible to create recovery media to an 8gb micro sd card and then restore the system from this? - I assume a 8gb USB stick would be just as easy but just wondering.
Thanks

Re: Imaging Recovery Partition
what you should do is clone the whole drive, this is an advance process if you clone external (target) to source (original) you will erase everything so pay attention... the way to do it is to connect your SSD somehow externally to your usb port (they sell those kits everywhere), then use a bootable version of Acronis 10 and up (this is important because Ver.10 has a better USB support), then select all the partitions on the original and target to the SSD drive and clone it... when its done, take your original drive out and insert your SSD in your notebook and you are done.. now that if you want to restore it back to factory just restart and press the blue thinkpad button on your keyboard and follow instructions. I did this with my T400... ive been working on computers for the longest time!
