Are Lenovo likely to prove Win 8 drivers for the X301?

I installed Windows 8 on my X301, but Lenovo do not have a driver for the mobile broadband F3507g. Are they likely to release one or have I just wasted a Win 8 license?

Did you try Windows 7 drivers? If necessary go back as far as XP and use the comptability mode.
I have an X200 tablet which is only just capable of Windows 8 yet I have everything I need working
by using a combination of drivers. I even got the Qualcomm HS-USB WAN recognized, although I don't
have a sim card for a full test. Even the Gobi1000 GPS with maps is functioning!

The X201 is a Lenovo supported platform for Win 8 and the F3507g was supported in the X201..... so there's a reasonable chance that there will be driver support for it, but it is also unlikely that it will regression tested in an X301, so whether it will work satisfactorily for your purposes is another matter.
Cheers,

My F3507g is working just fine under Win 8. I used these drivers:
