x200 Pen pressure and screen buttons not working( Win7)

#1 Post by laridk » Fri Jan 11, 2013 9:23 am

Hello all.
I just bought a refurb ThinkPad x200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834312318
It comes with Windows 7 Ultimate.
But I the pen pressure does not work at all. Neither do any of the buttons in the monitor. When I rotate and close the monitor, in drawing mode, the screen does not rotate automaticly either.

I think its a driver problem, but I really dont know which drivers to install.
Could someone help me please?
Thanks

There is an older version of Wacom drivers that allows for pressure sensitivity. I used them on my X200t. I don't remember the version number and no longer have the drivers. Maybe someone here knows, but if not, you could post this on the Lenovo forums to see if anyone there has an idea. The forums on TabletPCReview might be another option. It's not as active as here or the Lenovo forums, but you'll get access to more people who do tablet type stuff and need pressure sensitivity. They might know. Good luck and welcome to TPF.

Thanks for replying.
I ended up installing the latest drivers and the Wacom drivers, using ThinkVantage and the Wacom website's search.
It solved most of my problems, except the fact that the shortcut buttons, the extra power button, undo, escape, rotate and properties still dont work. I press them and nothing happens.
Please does anyone know how to make them work???
Thanks!

I just did a fresh install of W7 on an X200tablet I picked up. The very first thing I did was go to go to Lenovo Support and enter the seven-digit model digits found on the bottom casing of my X200T. The programs that I manually installed right away were:

- Intel Chipset Manager
- Lenovo Power Manager Driver
- Lenovo Power Manager
- Intel GM45 Display Driver for W7
- Thinkvantage Communications Utility for W7
- Hotkey Features Integration
- Thinkvantage Active Protection System (for my platter drive; no SSD yet)
- Integrated Camera Software Software for W7
- Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate (I have not installed this yet as I hardly use Bluetooth)

I downloaded the programs for Lenovo Support onto a flash drive and put them in a folder. I did notice for the Wacom that when I ran Windows update I found the Wacom driver (called 'Wacom- Input- Wacom Penenabled MiniDriver') in the 'Optional Updates.' IIRC the buttons worked even before I let Windows install the Wacom driver. I am able to use the shortcut buttons on my X200t.

I just found another program that Windows Update had installed called 'Lenovo- Other Hardware- ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard and Buttons.' Perhaps you might want to look under the 'Optional Updates' in Windows Updates.

Good luck :)
