That machine supports DDR3-1066 only but most DDR3-1333 modules run fine at 1066 MT/s.

8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500)
Will this do?
Thank you

Yes so long as it's some name brand RAM. Ebay no names are a crap shoot. You don't need 8 GB to run Win 8. For 99% of people out there 4 GB is plenty. Having said that 8 GB is oh so nice and I would never persuade you from that. Besides DDR3 RAM is relatively cheap.

Thank you cigarguy and mikemex as well I bought it on amazon very low $ but not that good of feedback but I took my chances.
Good to know that windows 8 can be run with 4 Gig I am in mac most of the time and I do google and 4 gig is a pain there.
That is why I jump to the max right away.
I machine will be here tomorrow and the memory on saturday. And sunday window 8 goes in.
I mention it because I plan to open another case for advice in how to install if you care follow me there it will appreciated.

Install of Win 8 on a X200 should be pretty straight forward. I don't have a X200 but do have a X201 and install of Win 8 was pretty simple. Only thing I did special was install Lenovo's Power Manager in compatibility mode. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend a SSD.

I have an X200T.
Just upped it to 8G with some a gskill kit off Amazon for $42.
Now the only resulting "issue" is that it can cold boot 2-3x faster than recovering from hibernation with a busy system.
Win8 was trivial, and provided a huge speed boost vs. Vista or win7
The X200 can take a std 2.5" drive--- i went with a Seagate Momentus XT 750.
Almost went with a 250G ssd, but went large for much less $$$.
Win8 or Mageia 3 Linux boot in ~15 seconds, win8 usable desktop, still loading junk slowly in the background, Linux fully booted w/idle HDD.
Also, the Xt seems to make the system "feel" much faster, I can compile Android-x86 with -j4 in the background and FF etc still load ~instantly.
Android-x86 boots fully in <10 seconds, and I have the wacom pen working great after a little effort.
.
With the original 160G WD Blue it took close to a minute to boot win8 or Linux
Heavy HDD i/o left the system amost unusable.
Upgrading the HDD was ~like buying a new machine, performance wise.
Going from 4>8gb ram, not huge gain, but I suspect I'll end up only using win8 in a VM, 8gb makes that viable.
I suspect DDR3 RAM is about as cheap as it's ever going to get, I wish I could upgrade my x300 to 8G for $42...
